What's the Scoop?
Owners and employees have reported odd noises, heard
voices and have experienced feelings of not being alone or
being watched lights turning on and off, a scale that turns
on by itself, objects moving, the smell of cigar smoke.
Employees feel uneasy in the storage area and near the
bathrooms. There are also reports of pictures coming off
walls, a paper towel dispenser which activiates when no
one is near it (it is a light sensor unit).

The Investigation
Investigators arrived at about 8 p.m. and had some ice cream and set up equipment.

Before the investigation Caren walked inside the back area where the tables are located and felt fairly light energy.
She senses that things move around such as candy, pictures, and chairs. There is a higher vibration in the middle
of the room but the room seems calm. Caren picks up that there are many impressions from many years passed
especially from the late 1800s around the piano located in the big room left to the brick stone wall.  She did not
pick up on any particular spirits at the time.

Around this time Caren proceeded to use the woman’s restroom and interesting enough, she picked up on a
female with a clear concise message, “Make sure you wash your hands and stay clean.” She is in her late 60s from
her impression left on life. Caren thinks she has crossed but she is an impression still left in the building. Caren do
not pick up on her name but she used to do repair work with the curtains and she was some sort of manager in life.
Caren is then drawn to the staircase
located in the back that goes up to a door.
She does do not see a presence but feels
a male presence standing there just
observing. It sort of freaks her out and
Caren leaves the area for a while.

Trish also did a pre-investigation
walkthrough and the first thing she noticed
was the old piano. Trish sensed a piano
player playing the piano for the guests as
the business’ entertainment. The piano
player was in his late thirties and appeared
to be from the era of very early 1900s. He
was a man of color, but attempted to hide it
from people. He had his hair combed on
the side and dressed with a white shirt,
dark vest over it and black pants. He was
smoking a cigar. The cigar was held in his
mouth as he played. He was not allowed to
speak to the customers while he performed

and took his breaks outside away from the customers. He did acknowledge her with a quick wink -very nice
gentleman.

At 9 p.m., team members are divided into two teams all are doing EMF readings and there is a spike by the storage
room in back of the main room. There is a sort tiny kitchen area back here as well. Julie, Fred, Jerry and Caren
immediately pick up on the smell of smoke, cigar smoke it is very heavy half way up the stair case. There is no one
smoking anywhere near the staircase; there is no one in the building next door to the right as the team checked
that scenario out. There is none outside the door at the top of the staircase that goes out to no-where anyway.
Caren picks up on the spirit name now, his name is George and he is a very kind soul who is stuck between worlds.
She tries to communicate with him but he is at this time reluctant to divulge any information as she sizes the team
up.
By the staircase team 1 proceeds to do an EVP session for
about 6-7 minutes. Caren tries to make contact with George
and hopes that he shows himself or can make him self-
present on the EVP. Now, again within this half an hour time
span, the team smells the smoke in the back staircase area
and by the bathrooms, it is intermittent. The smell seems to
come and go. Team members smell each other’s clothes and
no one was smoking. There is no smoke smell detected on
anyone of our clothes within the group.

Caren proceeds with a dousing rod session to contact
George on top of the staircase. When she asks the rods
specific questions, they do not budge.

Trish’s team started in the storage area. Trish immediately
sensed a mean older woman who appeared to be from the
late 1800s era. She did not want the team in the storage area
and attempted to push us out. The team held an EVP session
with her as she continued to be hostile. Trish became light
headed and dizzy, but stood her ground. When the team
ended the EVP session and stepped out of the storage area,
Trish could feel the pressure off her chest relieving itself. The
team held a second quiet session on the stairs. They did not
speak at all. They spent around 20 minutes on the stairs. At
first nothing; then, Trish smelled sweetness ~ almost like
some one was baking cookies. The smell remained for more
than 10 minutes, off and on. Trish was expecting to smell the

cigar since the piano was so close, but all she smelled was the sweetness.  She had no other communication with
the older mean woman.

Charlotte, who was monitoring noticed one of the cameras that was located in the storage room malfunctioning.
When she went to check on it, all appeared to be working correctly. She decided to take some digital photos in the
room and her digital camera began misfiring, The battery seemed to die at one point and then regain energy.

At 10:30 p.m. Caren is sitting at the front bar area where the ice cream is served. Her EVP recorder is sitting in her
pocket. It goes off by itself. She have did touch the machine or bump it in anyway. Jerry informs he that this can
happen with EVP recorders unprovoked, so Caren is not really to enthused with this occurrence.

At 10:45 p.m. Julie, Fred, Jerry and Caren go to the back storage kitchen area and again, they smell an incredible
smoke smell as though someone is “puffing” smoke in their faces. Again, no one around is smoking; no one is
smoking in the other rooms on each side in any direction. No one in on the team has smoked. Caren also picks up
that George, who is the “main” spirit in the building turns equipment off and on to get the employees attention.
At 11 p.m. Team 1 moves to the storage area with the owner and
do an EVP session for approx 10 minutes with the lights out. After
the EVP session, everyone remains very quiet for about 5
minutes and this is when Caren picks up the most information
about George.

Nothing caught on still camera. Video however, did catch the
scale in the storage room coming on by itself during an EVP
session conducted by Team 2. The scale can only be activated
by weight being placed upon it and no one was near it at the
time. Various team members reported the smell of cigar as well
as the sweet baking smell..there is a bakery next door but no
baked goods are ever produced there. Research revealed that
the store did house an active bakery in the 1800s. All EMF
readings were within normal range for electrical appliances and
lights. Fred did detect spikes in the doorway near the storage
room.

Interesting. Although we were unable to collaborate the psychic
impressions beyond the smells, investigators did have personal
experiences. John pointed out that there are holes in the walls
and smoke could waft through from other businesses. A longer

investigation may have produced more results but the team was there for a limited time. Therefore, we feel at this
time we do not have enough evidence to prove a haunting however, there are still events that we can not explain
that happened during the investigation and we would like to return and conduct a follow up.
