Groveland Hotel
The Groveland Hotel was built in the 1840s and still remains a
landmark in the town of Groveland. Three ghosts reportedly haunt
the location, one named Lyle who lived in the hotel and died in
room 15 while sleeping above a box of dynamite in 1927. Lyle has
been known to turn the water on and off in the bathroom of Room
15. He has also been known to move cosmetics from the dresser in
the room to another location. He also is purported to turn lights on
and off. The other ghosts who reportedly haunt the hotel are the
ghost of a man who was killed after a card game in the hotel dining
room and the spirit of a woman has been seen as well.

It was an interesting night in that we had hotel guests along on the investigation. At about 8 p.m.,
investigators broke into four teams and, carrying Walkie Talkies, split up into different areas of the
hotel.

All noticed high EMF readings on the second floor in nearly every room starting about the level of the
beds and emitting down through the floorboards. In room 15, EMF readings were of normal levels for
electrical outlets and appliances.

As the investigation continued, Jan said Lyle was stepping in and out of Room 15. He would be inside
before investigators entered and outside when they entered the room.

Charlotte, along with Kat, Jan, Whytnei and three hotel guests went into Room 15 and began EVP
sessions. Jan suddenly said that Lyle had gone into the bathroom so Charlotte sat on the toilet to
conduct another EVP session.

During that session, Jan instructed Richard to take a picture of the shower area just behind Charlotte.

At about midnight, team members decided to go into the dining room to sit at the table near the spot
where the man was allegedly shot and killed. An EVP session ensued.

Following that session, guests and some team members went to bed while other team members set up
surveillance equipment and performed another round of EVP sessions before ending at 2 a.m.
These pictures were shot in sequence in the bathroom of Room 15.
The team obtained one EVP in Room 15 and a photograph taken during an EVP session
may show a dark fog in the corner of the shower area in the same room.
Conclusion
More study is needed however, the EVP obtained in Room 15 and the photo are very
interesting.
