Many metaphysicians use clairvoyance as a tool for readings. It is the psychic ability to gain information
through inner knowledge or through one’s empirical senses beyond explanation. It is also known as extra-
sensory perception and “seeing” beyond the five senses and using the “sixth” sense. The reader can pick up
images, visions or vibrations and interpret the message for clarity. Visions may be of the future, past or even
present events. In history, clairvoyance has been documented since the begging of times. Nostradamus, a
famous prophet used his clairvoyance ability in his day and his technique is currently being studied and
admired in present times.

Where does the ability come from? Some paranormal Researchers and Scientists speculate that
Clairvoyants have a very sensitive “third eye” which relates to the pineal gland located in middle of the brain.
The pineal gland (endocrine gland) is responsible for the production of melatonin, and regulations of various
biorhythms of the body including thirst, hunger, sexual desire and aging. The pineal glad is also associated
with the sixth chakra believed to be a dormant organ that can be awakened to enable abilities to see and
sense experiences beyond explanation. Some people become clairvoyant after a New Death Experience,
serious illness or who may practice to open up their charkas and energy fields through meditation. There are
some spectators that believe that psychedelic drugs can aid with opening up an individuals sense of
clairvoyance, which might be true, but medical experts warn against using un-prescribed medications, which
can possibly do serious physical harm.
Clairvoyance can be confused with other similar metaphysical
techniques and practices. For example: clairvoyance is different
than telepathy, where clairvoyance information is usually retrieved
internally, through vibrations, images, pictures or internal knowledge
.
Telepathy is generally derived from direct outside physical sources
or messages retrieved from another person’s mind. An example of a clairvoyant
experience may include a reader claiming that they “know” a loved one has died or
may be in great danger with no rationale explanation.
There are many theories on how to develop a person’s clairvoyant skills. The Internet and bookstores are
full of research and speculations about clairvoyance. Many theorists believe in some simple fundamental
details on developing the skill. These particulars can include practicing mediation, using yoga, opening
oneself to outside thoughts and feelings without any analytical thoughts that may discredit information being
retrieved by the sixth sense.  It is much like developing any other gifts or skills; it gets easier with practice
and through exercise. Being open to the possibility is key.

The metaphysical community may be getting some respect regarding clairvoyants. Some of the research is
obtained through respected Universities and even various US government agencies. Someday, there may
even be a mathematical equation to explain how the human brain can use clairvoyant
