What got you interested in the paranormal?
My interest in the paranormal is part of my personality. I grew up addicted to scary books and
movies, and Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. Ghost stories and experiences
are universal, and actually create a common bond among people everywhere. I like the idea of
being involved in a ghost story, and finding out the history behind the haunting, and how I can help
if it’s possible.
How are you treated in public when people realize that you
are a paranormal investigator?
Typically, when friends or acquaintances learn that I’m involved in paranormal investigation, they
become intrigued and often share some personal paranormal experience they’ve had.
Have you ever had anybody react negatively to what you do?
No.
What do you do when you aren’t investigating?
I work in the public health field, and enjoy traveling, reading, movies and dancing.
What investigation sticks out in your mind?
The Diamond Springs Hotel, Diamond Springs, CA: I hadn’t been picking up on a lot with my dowsing
rods, but when I went, alone, into one of the rooms of the old run-down hotel section, I immediately
received strong responses to my questions from a female entity. When I was joined in the room by
two male investigators, the entity reacted strongly to their presence and became reluctant or
refused to answer questions that came directly from the men. Later in the investigation I found out
that the hotel had been used as a place of business by prostitutes, and it’s possible this female
entity could have been a prostitute and harbored angry feelings toward men.
I find this type of evidence valuable because I collected data prior to knowing the complete history
of the location; and it’s possible to say that the data supports the history of the location and might
therefore support the possibility of paranormal activity.
Have you had any unexplained experiences?
Lemp Mansion, St. Louis, MO: As I lay in bed in the Lavender Suite, trying to fall asleep, I sensed
what felt like my back being touched a couple of times. Unfortunately, I wasn’t brave enough to roll
over and see if there was anything standing next to the bed!
What skills do you bring to California Haunts?
I’m detail-oriented, and have good organizational skills. I believe my ability to remain calm and
logical are important traits. I enjoy providing the grunt work for research and digging up the
background information on locations. I’ve used EMF meters and thermometers to collect
information on investigations, and have conducted numerous EVP sessions. I have a professional
background in training, and training/promotional materials development, both hardcopy and online
versions.
What do you want to get out of your experience with
California Haunts?
I’d like to develop my skills so I’m better able to use paranormal investigation equipment, and
understand the information collected. I want to help structure the investigation and data collection
process so the team works well together within developed guidelines. I’d like to develop a
framework of paranormal investigation groups that can work as a collaborative, supporting each
other. I’d like to see CH become an even greater quality show that has a compelling story to tell the
viewer, from the perspective of its own research group. I’d like to do what I can to support
everyone so they can reach their potential and know where to go when they need questions
answered.
How does your family feel about your investigations?
They’re enthusiastic and supportive, often sharing information about paranormal locations and
tours throughout the state and country, as well as around the world. At times, they’ve joined me on
public paranormal tours, and one day hope to take a paranormal-themed vacation.
Do you enjoy being a paranormal investigator?
It’s a lot of fun, and can be tremendously satisfying. I enjoy meeting many people from all walks of
life, and sharing information that can be helpful to them. I love the research aspect, and am
fascinated by the wide variety of opinions and philosophies related to paranormal occurrences and
investigation.
